ACE provides independent advice to parents/carers of children in state-funded schools who are experiencing difficulties such as bullying, SEN, school admissions and appeals, and exclusions.
The Children's Legal Centre is an independent national charity concerned with law and policy affecting children and young people. It offers a help-line and publications.
CAF is a UK-wide charity providing support, advice and information for families with disabled children.
The department of education is responsible for education and children’s services. It publishes legal guidance about education.
If your child has Down’s Syndrome the Down Syndrome Association has trained education specialists who may be able to help you.

Free advice, information and guidance on equality, discrimination and human rights issues, including Disability Discrimination.
Independent Parental Special Education Advice
IPSEA is a registered charity offering free and independent advice to parents of children with special educational needs.
Publishes guidance on access arrangements to public exams.
Network 81 is a charity with the aim of advancing the education of children with special needs.
Office for Advice, Assistance, Support and Information
Resources about Autism / Asperger Syndrome and other learning disabilities. Factsheets include ones on "Finding a Special Needs School" and "Access Arrangements for Examinations".
Ofsted publishes reports on its school inspecations - useful when looking at schools.
Special Educational Needs and Disability Tribunal
The tribunal is part of the system of courts and tribunals which decides on appeals and claims. It hears appeals against decisions of local authorities about children with special educational needs; and claims against schools and local authorities where there has been disability discrimination in a child’s education
