BIG Lottery "Reaching Communities" programme

We have been awarded funding until October 2011 to develop our work with parent/carer groups in Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin with a focus on information and training. 

We aim to:

• support the development of new and existing parent/carer groups with relevant information and training.
• offer information and training to parents/carer groups in areas that they have identified; this can include educational issues and other issues related to disability and additional needs.
• improve access to appropriate local information.

A group of individual parents/carers and representatives of local groups are working with PPS on this Project and we are grateful to them for their time and support.

Parent Network Project - events for summer/autumn 2010 include -

Parent/Carer Outreach Meetings in Shrewsbury, Bishops Castle, Ludlow, Market Drayton and Oswestry

Information display provided at Autism West Midlands/Parents and Carers Council conference on Wednesday, 7 July

Training on Autism and Aspergers Syndrome in Telford on Thursday, 8 July
