Does your child have special educational needs?
The Parent Partnership Service provides independent information and support to parents/carers of children with special educational needs across Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin.
Parent Partnership Officers can offer parents/carers a range of flexible services including:
- access to accurate and impartial information on educational issues.
- individual support (by telephone or home visits).
- support in preparing for and attending meetings.
- help with writing letters and reports and completing forms relating to your child's education.
- support to enable you to work in partnership with schools, local authorities and other agencies.
The service is free to parents/carers of children with special educational needs.
We publish a variety of information leaflets which are available via our download or by telephoning our referral line details below.
To contact the Parent Partnership Service please telephone our referral line on 01952 457176 Monday-Thursday 9.30 am-4.00 pm (answer machine facility at all other times). All information is confidential and will be passed to the relevant Parent Partnership Officer for your area.
The Parent Partnership Service operates Monday-Thursday including school holidays.
TELFORD ADVICE SESSIONS
Parent Partnership Service is holding Advice Sessions from September 2009 to enable parents to meet with an Officer to discuss their child's educational needs.
Session Times:
Mondays 9.30am-12.00 noon - Meeting Point House, Telford
Wednesdays 9.30am-12.00 noon - The Poplars, Lightmoor

Parent Partnership Service is pleased to welcome Jill Maltby whose role is a Parent/Carers support worker.
Jill's role is:
- to support parents/carers in meetings
- to assist parents/carers with completing paperwork
- to support parents/carers with talking to and understanding other professionals
- to be involved with support groups
- to signpost to other agencies
- Jill can meet parents/carers at their home, or in a neutral venue
- Jill would be more than happy to speak with any professional about her new role
